New York City’s Broadway Week returned Wednesday with 2-for-1 ticket offers for 26 popular productions, running from January 20 to February 12. NYC Tourism + Conventions announced the promotion as part of its Winter Outing program, with sales starting at 10 a.m. on January 7 through the official NYC Broadway Week website. The twice-yearly event aims to draw theatergoers during the winter season by halving prices on select orchestra and mezzanine seats.
Participating shows include a mix of long-running hits and new entries. Productions such as Hamilton, The Lion King, Wicked, Chicago, MJ The Musical, Hell’s Kitchen, Aladdin, The Book of Mormon, Hadestown, Moulin Rouge! The Musical, and The Great Gatsby are offering the discount. Newer titles like Oh, Mary!, Stranger Things: The First Shadow, Operation Mincemeat, and Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) also joined the lineup, alongside others including & Juliet, All Out, Buena Vista Social Club, Chess, Death Becomes Her, Liberation, Maybe Happy Ending, Oedipus, The Outsiders, Ragtime, and Six The Musical.
Fred Dixon, president and CEO of NYC Tourism + Conventions, stated the promotion provides an accessible way for visitors and locals to experience Broadway’s diversity. “Broadway Week is a highlight of our Winter Outing, making world-class theater available to more audiences amid the season’s energy,” Dixon said in the official release. Tickets can be filtered online by genre, accessibility features, Tony Award winners, last-chance shows, or new participants, with availability limited to specific performances and zones.
The event spans 23 days and typically sells out quickly for top shows. Organizers noted past promotions boosted attendance during slower months, contributing to Broadway’s economic recovery post-pandemic. No additional discounts stack with the offer, and purchases require selecting two tickets at full price for the pair.
